Why we love it: This year's harvest from the ACODIHUE coop is one of our favorites. Creamy body, balanced acidity, and complex notes of ripe melon, black cherry, and bittersweet chocolate make for an excellent "Cup-of-Joe". This coffee is an all around crowd-pleaser and one that works great across all brew methods and roast styles.
Farm Story: Manos de Mujer comes from the ACODIHUE cooperative in the mountainous territory of Chuchmatan, Huehuetenango. The cooperative was founded in 1996 after the conclusion of several development projects in the area by the European Union and grouped farmers together into association. This coffee is produced entirely by women members of ACODIHUE network growers, which is referred to locally as Awai Nan (Siembra de Mujer) in their native Mam language. Only 22% of the ACODIHUE's annual production goes under the designation of Cafe con Manos de Mujer, which represents a refined selection of the cooperative's coffee.
